Successfully produced prototypes
of translucent alumina substrates
Japan Fine Ceramics Co., Ltd (JFC) is pleased to announce that prototype translucent alumina substrates (equivalent to 300mm square) have been produced, for which demand is expected to grow in advanced semiconductor packaging process in the coming years.
The prototype translucent alumina substrates are made from ultra-high-purity alumina (99.99% or higher) and have been confirmed to exhibit high optical transmittance from UV to IR wavelengths, rigidity and chemical resistance comparable to those of sapphire.
As demand driven by AI continues to grow, the semiconductor market is expected to expand further. By providing prototypes and accelerating the technology development, JFC will advance mass-production framework that enable JFC to meet customer's requirement.
